Mundane others

Of course, not that I expect my previous declaration to be a shock to many people. The world hardly revolves around me.

Anyway, it's time to push on with things, I'm going to try to force myself to talk more about life here in general at Microsoft. Note that I can't really talk about the product I'm working on, but I can talk about life as a tester here.

I'm motivated to do this, partly because while it's easy to find information on relatively intelligent product managers like Raymond Chen or Mark Russinovich, because, you know, they're famous, it's far less common for information about testers to be there.

I want to talk about the kinds of things we do, and the role we play in trying to make Microsoft products better. I assume that if this site finds any kind of noteriety, it'll wind up with plenty of snarky comments about how testing is failing, but hopefully I can show why it's such a huge pain, and some of the ways we're trying to make it better (since there is no absolute point at which testing becomes perfect, and hopefully I can marshall my recollection of various forms of math and statistics to show why)

Anyway, enough with this for now, I've got some work to catch up on.
