Okay, so it occurs to me that not posting to my blog in 4 months pretty much reinforces the notion that a blog is something you start, and then stop doing because it's fad-like. Ah well. In response to this, here's something I've been doing since I turned around 7 or 8 or so (I forget exactly when)
I took the Blasphemy Challenge. That's right, I'm an Atheist.
I started rejecting religion a long time ago, back when I was in primary school. It always seemed pretty crazy to me, and I was never too interested, and fortunately, I was allowed to give up religious studies fairly early on. For this I'm extremely thankful, and so now, finally, it's time for me to Out myself. It's now that we need to do this more than ever, I firmly believe that it's a requirement for the continued possibility of complete sanity in this world.
I hope that friends and family will support me, but if you can't, won't, don't care, or think I'm going to hell, that's okay too, that's your prerogative.

My Perogative - but you will eventually go to hell.
What, at some stage, ties us all together in unity under what is known as religion in one form or another.
Besides, the next war will be a religious war - which side do you intend on taking when you are taken hostage? None!

Hope you're having fun over there,

oops.
So, it occurs to me that if i want to allow comments, I should actually either check the queue, or set it to not queue them automatically. :)
James: thanks for the link. I've been browsing a lot of youtube on the subject. (I assume you're James from ie, btw :) ). Didn't realise you guys were following my RSS feed still.
As for my anonymous friend, you'll just have to understand that if there's a religious war, I'll be fighting everyone who's trying to force religion upon me. Don't make the mistake of assuming that because I'm an Atheist, that I'm also a Pacifist. I can and will fight where appropriate.
As for comments about hell, I can't really go to a place I don't believe exists. When I die, the chemical processes in my brain will cease to function correctly, and that will be the end of my life, and my conciousness. That's all that there is to it, and all that there needs to be. I'm not afraid, although I'll have a large amount of regret if I find that my end comes earlier than I expected, but I assume that'll be short lived regret if it's due to an accident or something.
Of course, the drawback is that I need to be aware that I can't yet fight Politically in this country. Not until I've got a greencard or citizenship.
Welcome to HELL.
Hey babe,
How are you? I miss ya! You look like you've lost heaps of weight :) Lookn good little athiest.
Now as a good Catholic girl I have to say - Thy God is a jealous God and he'll hunt you down.. and Hmmm.. I dunno..
Strike you with lightning or something.. ;)
Make sure you check out that doco called "jesus camp" if you want to get really mad.. "the god who wasn't there" isn't too bad either..
Fun fun :)
Love you xx
Yay, hell!
Thanks babe. I've already got a copy of "The god who wasn't there". Bit short for my tastes, sadly, but it was worth watching. Pity the leader of the dude's school doesn't have enough courage of his conviction to try and stand up for himself in the interview.
